Ontario’s Ultra-Low Overnight Electricity Price Plan

The Ontario Energy Board has announced a new hydro pricing plan. It’s expected to be available to customers in May or November 2023 — depending when your electricity provider implements the plan.

This plan is potentially interesting if you use a heat pump to heat your home. The off-peak rates are nearly 70%  lower than under the current Time of Use (ToU) plan available to Ontario homes.

It you charge one or more electric vehicles at home this plan gets even more appealing.
